HISTORY
Nicole’s Village
Tavern opened its doors in 2002 and continues to
grow thanks to the loyalty of our valued guests and
tremendous team of employees. Owners Ron and Jaene
Miranda are Wellington residents with two children
attending local schools.
Ron’s background in
food management and Jaene’s consumer packaged goods
marketing experience made the restaurant business a
natural choice when the family decision was made to
leave the Miami corporate life and become
entrepreneurs. The family made its debut in
Wellington with Michael’s Pasta Restaurant – an
Italian bistro which they owned and managed for 10
years from 1994 through 2003. “When we were looking
for a restaurant to buy, Michael’s Pasta caught our
eye for two important reasons,” said Ron Miranda,
originally from Youngstown, Ohio. “The first was
the community. We immediately fell in love with
Wellington’s open spaces, the impressive public
schools, and the friendliness of the people. The
second reason was that our son was named Michael –
so it really helped to seal the deal.”
The decision to
open Nicole’s Village Tavern in 2002 was one that
took some consideration. It seemed that our little
village was becoming so commercial. All the
quaintness of the town was disappearing with the
addition of the Mall, the grand, gated developments,
and the influx of chain restaurants. “When we
finally made the decision to jump, we wanted to
create an ambiance that our neighbors would feel
comfortable in,” said Jaene Miranda, originally from
Manhattan, New York. “We wanted to be the “Cheers”
of the western communities. Our constant motivation
is to provide a place that is family owned and
operated, serves great food and drinks, and presents
great entertainment value so our guests won’t have
to drive downtown.”
So, who is Nicole’s
named after? It’s named after the Miranda’s second
child who was 8 years old when the restaurant opened
its doors.
