Jimmy DiBattista
As a current singer
and songwriter living in Lake Worth, Florida. Jimmy
DiBattista is one of the greatest! He was born in
Elizabeth, New Jersey. He is proudly married with
three children and two grandchildren.
He has been singing
his whole life and decided what he wanted to be
after seeing the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan show
when he was eight years old. He took up guitar right
around his eighteenth birthday and started writing
almost immediately after learning his first few
chords.
In these 30 years
Jimmy has written over 350 songs and has released
seven albums: JimiD-Bo, Give It All You Got, Day Of
The Eclipse, Capture the Moment, Solo, Jersey
Stories One and Jersey Stories Two.
He has been in bands
in Jersey---Damien, The Doowrag Flyers, The Fun
Ghouls as well as his own band, with rotating
members of a group he calls Tropical Storm. Jimmy
has been a full time musician since the early 90's
working in many places down here in Palm Beach
County, Florida. He has a repertoire of over 500
songs! South Florida has a "Rag" magazine called
Jam and he was nominated for Top Solo Artist back in
92---A Jammy nomination.
(Big Fish/Small Pond)
He has jammed with Clarence Clemmons twice, which
was a “big thrill for a Jersey guy who had been
influenced by Bruce Springsteen and The E Street
Band”. He has even been able to play a couple of
Bruce songs for the Boss at his gig two years ago.
Jimmy says, "he was surprised to hear his Tom Joad
classic "The New Timer" and a B side from Born In
The USA "Shut Out The Light" down here in South
Florida." Mr. Springsteen was quoted saying to Jimmy
[that he] " sounded good". That was one of the
highlights of Jimmy's life.
Jimmy loves what he
does and feels blessed to be able to do what he has
always wanted to do. This shows through his
performances. He performs nightly at Nicole's
Village Tavern in Wellington on Thursday, Friday,
and Saturday nights. Best acoustic act you'll ever
see!
